Fabulous period piece made of flame mahogany. Dating from c1820, the piece is of the George 111 period, is original, and in very fine condition as well as seperates into 2 sections. There are typical minor age repairs and very minute chips here and there which only adds to the chests character and authenticity. Both sides had age cracks at one time but also were nicely restored and blended to the natural color of the piece. Overall the chest is rated in excellent condition for the age. All drawer bottoms, pulls, back boards and base are original as well as the finish. This dramatic piece measures 81 1/2"H x 48 1/4"W x 26"D and all drawers have dovetail construction and slide nicely.
